Sony just announced the new Xperia S smartphone at CES 2012, Las Vegas.
The S- range has been always a dual core for Sony (Earlier Sony Ericsson) the device is a 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor.
The phone hosts 12 megapixel Exmor R camera with LED Xenon Flsah.
The camera will record 1080p FULL HD video
and shoots a still image within 1.3 seconds, which sounds so superfast.
It also has a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video / Skype or
VOIP calls.
For the connectivity, Xperia S has NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities and is PlayStation-certified. What we look forward to is the Xperia S acting as a wireless controller for Playstation 2 or 3; just like what we have with Windows Mango Phone.
The Xperia S is built on slate design, but it does has a
micro-HDMI port along with the standard micro-USB port, as well as a
dedicated camera key.
The Xperia S measures 128mm x 64mm x 10.6mm (5.04in x 2.52in x
0.42in) and weighs 144g.
With the growth in Android devices, more and more concerns for the battery issues have come up.
Companies like Sony, HTC and Samsung have really started working with
immediate effect by launching their phones with greater batteries.
The Xperia S is powered with 1750 mAh battery, giving just more than a day use to the phone.
The Sony Xperia S wil be launched in black and silver colors by Q1
end in India. Currently the demo phone is running on Android 2.3.6, bu
Sony assures the phone with ICS out of the box.
Guessing a price tag of Rs. 34000, we can keep our fingers crossed till the launch.
