Nokia reveals “Nokia 808 PureView” Featuring 41-MP Camera: MWC

Nokia, after announcing its most popular WP7-based Lumia series smartphones, the Lumia 610 and 900 at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, the company has unveiled its amazing smartphone called the “Nokia 808 PureView” at the same event.

The 808 PureView is the world’s first smartphone to feature the highest camera sensor, 41-megapixel. According to MWC news, the smartphone by Nokia has been one of the bombshell announcements at MWC 2012.

Nokia’s official, Jo Harlow said while announcement that “Nokia PureView imaging technology sets a new industry standard by whatever measure you use.”

“People will inevitably focus on the 41 megapixel sensor, but the real quantum leap is how the pixels are used to deliver breath-taking image quality at any resolution and the freedom it provides to choose the story you want to tell,” he added.

The Symbian or Nokia Belle powered smartphone is featuring a 4-inch touch screen, 16GB of pre-installed storage memory, 512MB of RAM, a 1.3GHz single-core CPU and several connectivity options.

The company has used Carl Zeiss optics to prepare the sensor of its handset and claims that the optics which have been integrated into the smartphone are incomparable and it is competent of shooting photos of up to 38-megapixel in quality.

Nokia said that with the highest camera sensor at 41-MP, the 808 PureView is able to capture pictures at this mode, which can be prepared at “Poster Size” and can record HD videos at 1080p quality. However, this is definitely the one of the best camera on a smartphone we have ever seen, but we wonder how much one would have to shell out to click pictures from this camera smartphone.
