Lumia 610 -- Nokia’s first Windows Phone featuring NFC

Nokia Corporation has recently announced all new Lumia 610 with NFC feature.

The 610 model is the first to have rising Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology that provides instant payment service to Windows Phone platform.

Nokia has promised that they will be adding NFC technology to more smartphones.

Ilari Nurmi, chief at Nokia Smartphone said in a statement that “We are bringing NFC right across our portfolio.”

According to the research firm Berg Insight, “NFC featured smartphones sales are anticipated to more than triple to 100 million devices in upcoming year as smartphone makers and operators announcing new models, expecting to hit in growing market of for Mobile enabled payments.”

NFC enabled smartphones can be used to pay bills for goods, tickets of electronic store, download music, business cards and lots more.

“Orange will be the first telecom operator to sell Nokia Lumia 610 NFC smartphone, which has been qualified for contactless payment with VISA and MasterCard,” said Nokia in a statement.

Some market experts have reported that Orange will be benefiting from the NFC, as it can use the device for its mobile payment service as well.
